So Awesome, wish I could see it in person…
Anish Kapoor’s famous Cloudgate, in Millennium Park, Chicago, now has an equally mesmerising choreographed light show, Luminous Field, by Luftwerk, enhancing the experience of the work furthermore.

Luke/Jen Collage
The Holidays are always crazy, but now I have finally begun updates, and more to come…
This I got from Luke in December when he came to visit, so no postage this time, but oh well…He also painted on it, which I had wanted to avoid, but damn it all, I like it. I think is casein paint? I’ll have to double check. This also makes me want to experiment with different paper qualities, textures, but on to the collage:
I kind of love it, kind of… I mean its very visually interesting and stimulating, but perhaps too busy, I don’t know where is up and where is down. I believe I need to go in and simplify and make it stronger. This is not to say badly of the work he has done, quite the contrary. He changed it’s mood entirely, from depressed crumpled dreams to city bustle and light, from despair to hope, explosive hope and journey, which was fitting as he was/is on a journey himself.
Well, now it’s my turn, TO THE EXACTO KNIFE!

I just like it, the mixture of collage and drawing. So often they don’t mix well but I think this one has something going for it.

THE CHROMATIC TYPEWRITER
What a lovely new use for an old gadget. Washington-based painter Tyree Callahan has modified a traditional typewriter and turned it into a painting machine, or “Chromatic Typewriter”. Callahan submitted the beautiful typewriter as part of the 2012 West Prize competition, an annual art prize that’s determined by popular vote. The keys on the vintage 1937 Underwood Standard typewriter have each been replaced with a different pad of color to give some rather interesting results!

This is one of mine actually…but I’m not sure I’m finished yet, sometimes you just have to look at things for a few months.

Luke/Jen Collage
The time has finally come! I’ve sent out a new collage to a new person. To me this collage is about despair and escape and displacement… so far anyway. Lets see what Luke does with it!
As a side note I will soon be putting up some of my own collages as well, and they will be marked as such.
